The Service does not store personally identifiable information by default. We may temporarily process the following:

IP address and basic device/browser information (User-Agent)
Usage count and timestamps for rate limiting and abuse prevention
Uploaded PDF files solely for generating summaries
Extracted text from PDFs (including OCR results) for the purpose of summarization

PDF contents may be sent to the OpenAI API to generate AI-based summaries. According to OpenAI’s API data usage policies, API inputs are not used to train their models.

2. Purpose of Processing

We process information for the following purposes:

To provide AI-based PDF summarization
To prevent abuse and excessive usage (rate limiting)
To monitor stability and improve service quality
To maintain security and detect potential misuse

We do not use your data for targeted advertising or user profiling.

3. Retention and Deletion

PDF files: Deleted immediately after the summarization process completes. They are not stored in databases or long-term storage.
Logs: System-level logs may be retained for 7–30 days depending on server configuration and then automatically deleted.
Usage counts: Reset on a daily basis and not kept long-term.

4. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell or share your information with third parties except in the following cases:

When required by law or legal process
When necessary to protect our rights or users' safety
When PDF text and related data are sent to OpenAI solely for generating summaries

5. Security Measures

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures, including:

Encryption in transit via HTTPS/TLS
Minimization of file storage and immediate deletion after processing
Access control and firewall configuration on the server
Regular security updates and dependency management

6. Your Rights

Because we do not store personal data for long periods, requests to access, rectify, or delete data are limited to what is technically possible within our log and retention structure. You may contact us for any concerns about your data.

7. Cookies

The Service may use minimal technical cookies or similar mechanisms for session management and rate limiting. We do not use cookies for advertising or third-party tracking.
